Myrtle Ann Hotchkin was born on 14 November 1899 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA. 1930 census gives her age as 30.1 She was the daughter of Earnest Frank Hotchkin and Anna (Annie) Miller Mueller. Myrtle Ann Hotchkin married Herbert Warren Williams, son of James Albert Williams and Carrie Elsadie Warren, on 29 January 1916 at Lake County, IN, USA.2 She married James P. Guthrie Jr. at Chicago, Cook County, IL, on 23 April 1923. Myrtle Ann Hotchkin died on 20 June 1963 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA, USA, at age 63.1 She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery (Glendale), at Glendale, Los Angeles County, CA, USA.

Andrew Hugh Yackel was born on 21 July 1983 at Iron River, Iron County, MI, USA.1 He was the son of Dennis Yackel and Cynthia Ann Hotchkin. Andrew Hugh Yackel died on 22 December 2007 at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI, USA, at age 24. MARQUETTE — Andrew Hugh “Andy” Yackel, 24, of 1955 Freedom Drive, Marquette, entered eternal life Saturday morning, December 22, 2007, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he had been a patient for the past month.
Andy was born July 21, 1983, in Iron River, a son of Dennis E. and Cynthia A. (Hotchkin) Yackel, and resided in Iron River until moving to Marquette in 1987. He was a 2002 graduate of the Marquette Senior High School and later was employed in customer service at ShopKo and Quick Trophy. Andy loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and Northern Michigan University hockey fan. An active volunteer, he lent his services to the U.P. Children’s Museum Gift Shop, the Hiawatha Music Co-op and Easter Seals. He was the Easter Seal U.P. child representative in 1992. He was a member of the Harvey Baptist Church.
Andy is survived by his parents, Cynthia A. Yackel of Marquette and Dennis E. Yackel of Iron River; his brother, Sgt. Kyle A. Yackel, serving with the U.S. Army; maternal grandmother, Avonelle S. Hotchkin of Jackson; paternal grandparents, Edward and Lucille I. Yackel of Iron River; several aunts and uncles, among them, a special uncle, Edwin Yackel, who often took Andy hunting and fishing; and several cousins. Andy was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Hugh Miller Hotchkin Sr; and his special golden retriever pal, “Buddy.”
Friends may call at the Harvey Baptist Church on Thursday, December 27, beginning at 12 noon. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Alan McCall officiating. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bay Cliff Health Camp, 310 W. Washington St., Marquette, MI 49855.

Also surviving, brother Ralph (Sally); sister-in-law Bonnie Davison; and sister Jennie (Jon) Swanson. He was pre- deceased by his brothers, John and Gus and sister-in-law, Barbara Davison. He moved to Florida from Michigan in 1981. He was bi-vocational, an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, pastoring 3 churches in MI and 2 in Tampa and he was a social worker. He always wanted to help people; he did as a credit union treasurer, minister and social worker. He was a member of the NPR Blind Club. He loved volunteering at the Food Pantry. Donations may be made to Mel Angell, Food Pantry at the church. A memorial service will be held 11am, July 30 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 11038 Little Road, at Star Trail, New Port Richey.
