Jack R. Anians, 74, of Bourbonnais, died Friday (Feb. 8, 2008) at his home. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bourbonnais Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert Dealey will officiate.

Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.

Mr. Anians worked in management for the GTE Company for several years. He was born Nov. 24, 1933, the son of Edward "Ted" and Marie Hotchkins Anians. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Miller, whom he married Jan. 28, 1956, in Chicago; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Robert and Sherri Anians of Shorewood, Brian David and Gina Anians of Wheatland, Iowa; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise Marie and Bob Duncan of Bourbonnais; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Jacqueline Proudfoot of Momence; and one niece and one nephew.

One brother, Robert Anians, is deceased..¹ He was buried at All Saints Cemetery, at Bourbonnais, Kankakee County, IL, USA.

     Ella was born at Pittsfield Twp, Butler County, IA, USA, in April 1870. Birth date in 1900 census.. She was the daughter of James Kimball Hotchkin and Barbara Rachel Murray. Ella Hotchkin married Frank E. Perry, son of Allen (Alan) W. Perry and Adah Jane Grant (Hazel), in 1903.

Gertrude Burton 92, of Vancouver, WA died Tuesday December 11th. Born in Jacksonville, OR she graduated from Falls City High School in 1937. Gertrude was a Certified Medical Transcriptionist; she worked most of her life at hospitals in the Willamette Valley. She retired at age 76 and went on to volunteer for Meals on Wheels program in Salem, OR.

Her survivors include her three children, Jerry Mayes of McMinnville, Or, Loni Runkle of Vancouver, WA, and Merle Harvey of Keizer, Or, eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

(Jan. 14th) and his stated date of birth on his gravestone (Jan. 25th) is the result of Peter's family misunderstanding the result of England's conversion from the Julian to modern Gregorian calendar in 1752. The 11 day difference between the Julian and Gregorian calenders was corrected on a one-time only basis by the day following Sept. 3, 1752 being Sept. 14, 1752. It did not require any other adjustment to a prior or future date in the English calendar.

Rev. Peter Thacher, 3rd child and eldest s. of Rev. Peter Thacher, Jr. and Mary Prince, b. of record Jan. 14, 1715/6 (g.s., Jan. 25) at Middleborough, Mass. He d. Sept. 13, 1785 at Attleborough, Mass., Æ 70. He was the longstanding pastor of the 2nd Congregational Church of Christ at Attleborough..      Rev Peter Thatcher or Thacher served in the Revolutionary War as Chaplain of Col John Dagget's Regt, enlisted 4 Feb, 1778 and discharged 1 April 1778. He was stationed in Rhode Island for 3 months starting on 1 January 1778. His roll was approved at Providence, RI and also at Liverton by Brig Gen Esek Cornell who states that service was performed in his Brigade.
