He married Rosa Ann Lewis at Sullivan County, NY, USA, circa 1890. Charles M. Sutherland died on 18 February 1952 at Sullivan County, NY, at age 82.      Eddie is know from a fragment of a gravestone laying next to that of his sister Lydia's.

     Wellington was born at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 19 July 1855. Age 4 at hte 1860 census, 15 at 1870 and 24 at the 1880 census.. He was the son of William Ellis Steele and Lois Ann Hotchkin. Wellington G. Steele died on 10 September 1916 at Liberty, Sullivan County, IN, USA, at age 61. He was buried at Liberty Cemetery, at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Emma was born at Sullivan County, NY, USA, in 1865. Age 6 at the 1870 census and age 15 at the 1880 census.. She was the daughter of William Ellis Steele and Lois Ann Hotchkin.

     Elizabeth was born at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA, in 1862. Age 18 at the 1880 census. This census calls her Eina.. She was the daughter of Gideon Young and Hannah E. Hotchkin. Elizabeth (Nina) Young married Hyde (Hide) Bonnell at NY, USA. Elizabeth (Nina) Young died in 1936 at Sullivan County, NY, USA. She was buried at Old Liberty Cemetery, at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Billings Grant was born on 10 May 1872 at NY, USA. Age 8 at the 1880 census. He was the son of David Grant and Hannah E. Hotchkin. Billings Grant married Eva Young at NY. Billings Grant appeared on the census of 1930 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Billings Grant, 58, owns home $14,000, stationary engineer, wife Eva, 61, born NY, father born NY, mother in CT; dau Isabel, 28, born NY; sister-in-law really step sister) Eliza Young, 68, born NY.. He died on 28 April 1946 at Liberty, Sullivan County, IN, USA, at age 73. He was buried at Old Liberty Cemetery, at Liberty, Sullivan County, IN, USA.

     James A. Grant was born in April 1877 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA. Age 3 at the 1880 census. He was the son of David Grant and Hannah E. Hotchkin. James A. Grant married Nettie Holloway circa 1900 at NY, USA.

     John Grant was born circa 1785 at Scotland. He married Barbara A. Brown circa 1820.

     Barbara was born at Scotland in 1784. Age 76 at the 1860 census.. She married John Grant circa 1820.

     Cassine was born at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 10 August 1872. Age 27 at the 1900 census. The day 10th comes from Geoffrey Brown.. She was the daughter of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sarah Ann (Sally) Hotchkin. She married Eugene Cross at Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 30 October 1895. Cassine died on 22 March 1956 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA, at age 83. She was buried at Liberty Cemetery, at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     The information on this family comes directly from Geoffrey Brown's book, as this is his direct line. The marriage of May and Eugene had been scheduled to be held at the Bonnell Family farm but was held instead at Neversink as Eugene had the measles.
     They owned and operated a store in the village of Neversink Flats. Eugene also taught school and was involved in the conservation law enforcement. Around 1905, the couple decided to move to Burns, OR on a land grant that they had obtained. They sold the store in Neversink and traveled west as far as the railroads ran to Vale, OR and then continued by stagecoach traveling around the clock. At 3 AM, May determined that they would go no further; they transferred to the return stage and returned to Neversink via the Southern Pacific Railroad through Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Antonio, Washington, DC, New York City, and Liberty, and opened a new store in competition to the one that they had just sold.
     May was actively involved with her husband in running the dry goods side of the store, performing most of the buying function on her twice a year trips to New York City. When on these trips, she stayed with Anna Kortright Apple, granddaughter of her mother, Sarah Ann Hotchkin, in New Rochelle. She suffered from degenerative arthritis in her later years, and died of heart disease. A resolution of respect from her local Rebeckan Lodge erroneously gives her date of death as 23 March 1956. Eugene also died of heart disease. Much of the information came from the recollections of their daughter, Helen Cross Brown.^3,4,5

     Carrie was born at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA, in 1874. She was the daughter of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sarah Ann (Sally) Hotchkin. Carrie died in 1876 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY. She was buried at Fallsburg Neversink Cemetery, at Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Edith (Ettie) Bonnell was born in 1863 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA. She was the daughter of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sophia Hardenburgh. Edith died on 19 July 1877 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY. She was buried at Fallsburg Neversink Cemetery, at Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     She is called Ettie at the 1870 census.

     Daniel Reynolds Bonnell Jr. was born on 28 November 1878 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA. He was the son of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sarah Ann (Sally) Hotchkin. He married Della Lawrence at NY, USA, in 1897. Married 2 years at the 1900 census.. He married Nellie Hodge at Bradley, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 15 November 1907. Their marriage was witnessed by Alice Hotchkin and Fred Bonney.. Daniel Reynolds Bonnell Jr. registered for the World War I Draft on 12 September 1918 while living at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "Gives birth date of 26 nov 1877 and wife Nellie.". He appeared on the census of 1920 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY. The census lists the family as: Daniel Bonnell, 44, born NY, parents born NY, farmer; wife Nellie, 36, born NY, parents born NY; son Howard 5/12/, born NY.. He married Florence C. Schaeffer at NY on 8 December 1928. Daniel Reynolds Bonnell Jr. died on 21 January 1959 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, at age 80. He was buried at Liberty Cemetery, at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Ralph was born at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA, in 1880. He was the son of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sarah Ann (Sally) Hotchkin. Ralph died on 1 April 1883 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY. Cemetery Records. He was buried at Fallsburg Neversink Cemetery, at Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Jay William Bonnell was born on 30 November 1882 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA. He was the son of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sarah Ann (Sally) Hotchkin. He married Alice Green at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 15 May 1912. Jay William Bonnell appeared on the census of 1920 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY. The census lists the family as: Jay W. Bonnell, 37, born NY, parents born NY, farmer; wife Alice, 26, born NY, parents born NY; dau Helen, 6, born NY, dau Charlotte, 5, born NY.. Afton - Jay W. Bonnell, 83, of Algerine, Street, Afton, died in Binghamton on Sunday, June 18, 1966, following a long illness. Funeral services were held at Karschner Funeral Home, Afton, on Wednesday, Rev. Clifford E. Webb officiated. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton. Survivors include his widow, Mrs.Alice Bonnell of Afton; three daughters, Mrs. Fred(Helen)Barnes, Port Dickinson, Miss Charlott Bonnell, Binghamton, and Mrs. Roy(Jean)Moore, Case Road, Afton; also eight grandchildren and tow great grandchildren..

     Jay and Alice resided in Afton, NY where he was a farmer.

     Grover was born at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 25 November 1884. He was the son of Daniel Reynolds Bonnell and Sarah Ann (Sally) Hotchkin. Grover Cleveland Bonnell appeared on the census of 1900 at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY. The census lists the family as: Grover C. Bonnell, Nov 1884, 15, single, born NY, living with uncle Norman Hotchkin and aunt Hattie.. He married Emma Wells on 20 March 1917 at White Lake, Sullivan County, NY, USA.¹ Grover Cleveland Bonnell died on 22 July 1959 at Sidney, Delaware County, NY, USA, at age 74.² He was buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery, at Sidney, Delaware County, NY, USA.

     Geoffrey Brown says that he owned and managed the Livery Stable connected with the Libert House Hotel, and is so identified in Wakefield's To the Mountains by Rail. In Sidney, NY where he died he was in the coal and Oil business and had a small food store.

     Gertrude was born at NY, USA, in 1866. Age 14 at the 1880 census.. She was the daughter of Peter L. Krum and Elizabeth Hotchkin.

     Celia was born at NY, USA, in 1877. Age 2 at 1880 census.. She was the daughter of Peter L. Krum and Elizabeth Hotchkin.
