However town records of Springfield, MA say, "William Hendrick of Wallinton, CT, married Jan 7 1707-8, Abigail Sikes, born Mar 16 1676-7 in Springfield, MA..1 William Hendrick died before 4 July 1726 at Wallingford, New Haven County, CT. On this date his Will was allowed by the court and his wife was appointed Administratrix. His widow must have married a Mr Smith because a deed dated Dec 14 1733, in which Caleb Hendrick sells land of his honored mother Abigail Smith to William Hendrick..
Described in the Hendrick family genealogy by Daniel Hendrick. Lived in area now known as Cheshire, CT. His will was allowed by the court on July 4, 1726. Charles T. Hendrick says that William had two brothers and a sister; Francis, Samuel, and Mary who married at Canfield. The brothers were first mentioned on the grand list of Wallingford, CT in 1701. Francis must have died during the year of 1729, for his Will was dated 5 Dec, 1729, in which he mentions his loving wife Martha and his cousin John, third son of my brother William; his sister Mary Canfield and the children of his brother Samuel; David, Ezekiel, Elizabeth, and Lydia.1,2

He died on 14 March 1795 at Pownal, Bennington County, VT, USA, at age 85.1
Vermont Militia, Capt Nathaniel Seeley's Co of Alarm Men, Col Samuel Herrick's Regt, Oct 11, 1780 and was in service 5 days, traveled 70 miles and received 1 pound, 10 shillings and 0 pence. He is supposed to have been in the battle of Bennington and was a member of the Committee of Safety, which met at Dorset, VT, July 1776, and declared Vermont to be an independent province.
He was one of the early pioneers of Pownal, VT and helped to survey and clear the land. He served in several civil offices of the town.
