     John C. Mairs was born on 27 April 1829 at Jefferson County, OH, USA. He married Julia Ann Semple, daughter of Alexander Whiteside Semple and Mary Finley, in 1861 at Jefferson County, OH. John C. Mairs died on 2 March 1879 at Jefferson County, OH, at age 49. Dr John Mairs, a prominent physician of Steubenville, died Sunday, Mar 2nd at the residence of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Dr Semple of heart disease in the 50th year of his age.

Dr Mairs was born in Steubenville April 1829 and was a graduate of the Medical College in Philadelphia. He was twice married; the first time to Miss Julia Cook, daughter of Dr. Cook of Richmond, this county, who lived but a few years, and dying left a young son. In 1861 he was married to Miss Julia Semple, daughter of Dr. Semple, who with a daughter survive him. The funeral took place Tuesday.... Congretional Church. The pall beareers were: Dr E Pearce, Dr Hill, Dr Croskey, Dr Hammond, Dr Nelson and Dr Thos. Johnson. ---The Steubenville Weekly Gazette, Friday, March 7, 1879. She was age 18 and he age 23 at marriage according to 1930 census. IN Marriage 1800 to 1941.. Doris Bernice Stackhouse died on 6 December 1970 at Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna, Portage County, OH, USA.¹ She was buried at Ashland Cemetery, at Ashland, Ashland County, OH, USA.

     Helen F. Dammann was born on 13 September 1898 at NY, USA. Age 31 at the 1930 census.¹ She married Harry A. Paris, son of Charles Hilton Paris and Elizabeth A. Hill, in 1918 at NY. She was 19 and he 23 at marriage.. Helen F. Dammann died in March 1996 at Troy, Rensselaer County, NY, USA, at age 97.¹ She was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, at Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY, USA.

     At the 1920 census of Troy, NY, she and Harry are living with father-in-law Charles H. and his family. The census says that she was born in NY and her parents in Germany.

     Norman Hughes Voorhees was born on 18 November 1912 at NJ, USA. Age 7 at the 1920 census.¹ He was the son of Frederick Hughes Voorhees and Edna Augusta Brokaw. Norman Hughes Voorhees died on 19 March 2009 at St Petersburg, Pinellas County, FL, USA, at age 96.¹

     Frederick Hughes Voorhees was born on 5 February 1889 at Harlingen, Somerset County, NJ, USA.^1,2 He married Edna Augusta Brokaw on 18 October 1911 at Skillman, Somerset County, NJ, USA. Frederick Hughes Voorhees died in May 1975 at Belle Mead, Somerset County, NJ, USA, at age 86.^1,2 He was buried at Rocky Hill Cemetery, at Rocky Hill, Somerset County, NJ, USA.

     Edna Augusta Brokaw was born on 11 May 1891 at Harlingen, Somerset County, NJ, USA.^1,2 She married Frederick Hughes Voorhees on 18 October 1911 at Skillman, Somerset County, NJ, USA. Edna Augusta Brokaw died on 21 February 1963 at Somerset County, NJ, USA, at age 71.² She was buried at Rocky Hill Cemetery, at Rocky Hill, Somerset County, NJ, USA.

     Raymond J. Steen was born on 14 September 1886 at Appleton, Niagara County, NY, USA. He married Florence E. Schuster in 1905 at Niagara County, NY, USA. She was age 22 and he age 20 at marriage.. Raymond J. Steen registered for the World War I Draft on 5 May 1917 while living at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his birth date and birth in Appleton and says that he has a wife and two children.". He died in 1973 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY.¹ He was buried at Corwin Cemetery, at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA.

     The family operated the Steen Lumber and Building Supplies business in Newfane, NY. They closed the business in 1968 and laided off 15 employees.

     Florence E. Schuster was born in 1884 at NY, USA. She married Raymond J. Steen in 1905 at Niagara County, NY, USA. She was age 22 and he age 20 at marriage.. Florence E. Schuster died in 1949 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA. She was buried at Corwin Cemetery, at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA.

     Merle W. Steen was born on 5 October 1914 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA. Age 5 at the 1920 census and 15 at the 1930 censsus. Exact date in death notice.¹ He was the son of Raymond J. Steen and Florence E. Schuster. Merle W. Steen died on 21 August 1958 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, at age 43.¹ He was buried at Corwin Cemetery, at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA.

     Paul W. Steen was born on 21 November 1917 at Niagara County, NY, USA. Age 2 1/12 at the 1920 census and 12 at the 1930 census.¹ He was the son of Raymond J. Steen and Florence E. Schuster. Paul W. Steen died on 17 March 1986 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA, at age 68.¹

     Donald D. Steen was born on 10 December 1919 at Porter, Niagara County, NY, USA. Not in the 1920 census and age 10 at the 1930 census.¹ He was the son of Raymond J. Steen and Florence E. Schuster. Donald D. Steen died on 29 August 1996 at Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA, at age 76.¹

     Vine B. Bailey was born on 15 November 1771 at Groton, New London County, CT, USA.¹ He married Lucy (Patty) Woodward circa 1805. Vine B. Bailey died after 1850 at Sangerfield, Oneida County, NY, USA.

     The Barbour Colection, Vol 1, pg 174 gives his parents as Obadiah Jr. and Azubah.

     Lucy (Patty) Woodward was born on 15 July 1774 at Preston, New London County, CT, USA. She married Vine B. Bailey circa 1805. Lucy (Patty) Woodward died on 25 December 1859 at Sangerfield, Oneida County, NY, USA, at age 85. She was buried at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, at Groton, New London County, CT, USA.

     Hollister Bartlett was born in 1835 at OH, USA. Age 14 at the 1850 census. He was the son of Calvin Bartlett and Lydia Drury.
