The December 28 1948 edition of the Lansing State Journal comments on the suicide and loss of Mrs. G. N. Fuller, poetess and wife of Historical Commission Fuller. The next few days’ edition talks about her suicide note and wedding ring being found. On December 31 the paper says that they are still searching for her body. The Compiler finds George N. Fuller in both the 1920 and 1930 census as a historian for the state of Michigan. At the 1920 census George is found at two locations, at one he is listed with his wife Belle and both daughters and at the other he is a roomer with his daughter Florence. At the 1930 census he is living with wife Helen L. and daughters Florence and Margaret.

Edith was born on February 17, 1914, in Manitoba, Canada. She was one of 13 children born to William and Matilda Schermer. Edith married Henry W. Gustine on May 5, 1935. Together they had three children. Edith enjoyed flower gardening and flower arranging. She was also known for her knitting and interior decorating. Edith loved her Lord and was a member of the Road to Life Church in St. Joseph. She will be remembered for her outgoing hospitality to anyone she met.
Edith is survived by her children, Delores Raines of Benton Harbor, Janet (Kenneth) Ridgeway of Stevensville and Richard Gustine of Richmond, VA; eight grand children; 16 great-grandchildren; and by 13 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband He. She was buried at Crystal Springs Cemetery, at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA.
