     Harriet was born at Lebanon, Madison County, NY, USA, on 17 September 1854. The 1900 census gives a September 1855 date..1 She was the daughter of Heman Hotchkin and Mary Hitchcock. She married G. (Simon) Clarence Miller at Pekin, Niagara County, NY, USA, on 10 May 1876.2 Harriet B. Hotchkin was employed in 1900 as a School Teacher. She appeared on the census of 1910 at Cleon, Manistee County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Hattie B. Miller, 55, widow, Farmer, born NY; dau Mabel J, 22, single, born MI; Ralph W Hively, 22, born MI, farmer, can't read the relationship, but it may be Hired Hand.. Harriet died on 16 October 1927 at MI, USA, at age 73.1

     Their marriage was announced in the Lockport Daily Journal. It said that she was from Pikin and he from Lockport.

Maria Kinney

     Maria Kinney was born in September 1818 at CT, USA.1 She married Heman Hotchkin at Lockport, Niagara County, NY, USA, on 18 December 1875.2 Maria Kinney died on 5 May 1888 at Pekin, Niagara County, NY, USA, at age 69.3

     The NY Death Register says that she is Maria Hotchkin of Pekin, NY and died of pneumonia and typhoid, treated by Dr. Clinton A. Sage. According to real estate and Probate records, this is Maria, wife of Heman. The records referred to her as Mrs Maria Beebe. A sister, Lydia Brown, wife of Edward S. Brown, filed a petition giving Maria's death date and her husband as Heman. The home was Willed to Lydia, but Heman had a right to live there until his death.

He married Charlotte Elizabeth Hotchkin at Watertown, Jefferson County, NY, USA, on 29 April 1852.2,3 He resided at Lyme Twp, Huron County, OH, USA, in 1855. George Washington Seymour appeared on the census of 1880 at Lyme Twp, Huron County, OH. The census lists the family as: John Seymour, 88, born CT, retired merchant; wife Sarah A., 82, born NY; son George, 56, farmer, born PA; daughter-in-law S Charlotte E., 52, born NY; grand daughter Anna K., 25, born OH, boarder William Bartlett, 20, (nephew of Charlotte E.). He died on 14 January 1893 at Bellevue, Huron County, OH, USA, at age 68.1,4 He was buried at Bellevue Cemetery, at Bellevue, Huron County, OH, USA.

     This marriage information comes from the Surrogate Court records in Jefferson Co, NY referring to her fathers estate. Marriage date comes from Stanley E. Harris Jr.
