She married Franklin Elwyn Hotchkin at Harbor Springs, Emmet County, MI, USA, on 30 June 1920. A cousin gave 30 June 1919 to LDS, which is an error. Margaret Josephine Smith died on 16 July 1990 at Odessa, Ector County, TX, USA, at age 88.2,3 She was buried at Andrews County Cemetery West, at Andrews, Andrews County, TX, USA.

Mother always claimed another middle name of Lafame but it is not recorded on her birth certificate. Dad said that it was love at first sight after he was introduced to mother at the telephone company in Harbor Springs, and that he knew immediately that he would marry her. Her death occurred at 7:30 P.M., July 16, just 2 days before her 89th birthday. She died at Medical Center Hospital, Odessa, TX of fluids on the lungs caused by many strokes over the previous two years. Jerrold Lee Hotchkin

M, (22 September 1928 - 12 July 2005)
Jerrold Lee Hotchkin
Jerrold was born at Jackson, Jackson County, MI, USA, on 22 September 1928. Jerry is the Compilers brother.. He was the son of Franklin Elwyn Hotchkin and Margaret Josephine Smith. He married Grace Marie Stoner at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, USA, on 3 April 1948.1,2 Jerrold was divorced from Grace Marie Stoner circa 1951. He married Faith Hope Schurman at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, on 23 April 1953. He resided at Odessa, Ector County, TX, USA, in 2004. Jerrold Lee Hotchkin died on 12 July 2005 at Odessa, Ector County, TX, at age 76. My brother died at about 5:30 pm, Tuesday, July 12 of advanced Alzheimer’s disease. He fought hard against this terrible disease. The last time that I saw him was in the summer of 2002 when I invited him to join my sons and me on a marlin-fishing trip to Los Cabo, Bahi, Mexico.
His obituary appeared in the Odessa American on Thursday July 14, 2005 and said, " Odessa, Jerold (proper is Jerrold, I hope that my obituary at least gets my name correct) Lee Hotchkin, 76, of Odessa, a Christian Minister, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Seabury Nursing Center. Services will be at 2;00 pm, Friday at Odessa Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Demetro officiating. Private burial will be held. He was born in Jackson MI. He was an Army Veteran. Survivors are wife Faith Hope Hotchkin of Odessa, sons Robert Hotchkin of Corpus Christi and John F. Hotchkin of Bridgeport; daughter Patrice Smith of Odessa; brother Edgar Hotchkin of Pasadena, Calif; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.".

The Compilers brother Jerry has lived in west Texas since 1968. He has been in construction, carpet retailing, auto body repair and harvesting. Jerry served in the Army in Okinawa during 1955 and 1956. In 1980 Jerry and Faith decided that they wanted to become Ministers. After their study program, they opened Faith Christian Outreach on the site of their mobile home park where they live. They supplied food and clothes to the hungry and disadvantaged. The church was closed in 1990 when they went full-time as missionaries and evangelists. For many years he ran a ministry in Mexico, where it was dangerous for non-catholic to operate. Jerry and Faith traveled and ministered in Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan and India spreading the gospel. Jerry had said that one of their greatest adventures was spending two weeks in Albania. They also spent a lot of time in their motorhome ministering to churches in the United States.
Jerry had a busy and active life. During our young life, when we were both living with our parents, he was an auto painter and auto body repairman. After he moved from Lansing MI to Andrews, TX he bought and fixed up homes and ran a carpet store.
My last vist with my brother was in 2002 or 2004 when I invited him to join myself and my boys and friend on our annual Marlin fishing trip to Los Cabos, Mexico. He died in July 2005.
