Nathaniel Smith, son of Henry and Jerusha Griffith Smith, was born in Pitcher, Southeast Putnam County, New York. He married Sarah Eveline Yale June 26, 1833, in Chenango County, New York. Their children were Ozias Yale, Agnes Eliza, George Phillip, Armina Amelia, Wheeler Powell, and Orcelia Hellon Smith. Nathaniel and family were in Illinois in the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census records, and in Broome County, New York, in the 1880 census.. He was buried at Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery, at Nineveh, Broome County, NY, USA.

Talma Hendrick gives a marriage date of 14 dec 1846, which must be in error unless Hannah and Russel are children of an earlier marriage..1 Russell M. Gallup appeared on the census of 1870 at Afton, Chenango County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Russell Gallup, 61, born NY; Agnes, 51, born NY; Hannah, 21, born NY; Russell, 19, born NY; Delos, 1, born NY; Alice E., 6, born NY.. The census lists the family as: Leontis Hendrick, 64, born NY is living with daughter Julia Ann Lyon and her children.. He died on 2 January 1876 at Sweden, Potter County, PA, at age 79. He was buried at Eulalia Cemetery, at Coudersport, Potter County, PA, USA.

     Talma Hendrick says that he was the second white child born in Guilford, NY. He lived ther until the spring of 1832, when he moved to Coventryville, NY. He was a mason and farmer.1

     Abigail Hendrick was born on 4 May 1806 at Guilford, Chenango County, NY, USA.1 She was the daughter of Joel Hendrick and Esther Lewis. She married David Martin Post at Guilford, Chenango County, NY, on 26 February 1829.1 Abigail Hendrick died on 9 July 1871 at Afton, Chenango County, NY, USA, at age 65. In Afton [Chenango County, NY], July 11th, Mrs. Abigal H. Post, aged 65 years, 6 months and 5 days. The deceased had been a great but patient sufferer for many long years and her death had been anticipated many times; but in the providence of God she was permitted to live many years. Her complaint was asthma, and it ended her days. For a few days before her demise she had one of her many poor turns, but apparently no worse than she had been many times before. On the night of her death her husband had lain down and had fallen asleep, and thus, while her family were resting for a short time, in the silence of the night her spirit passed apparently without a struggle to God who gave it. She united with the Baptist Church in middle life and for thirty-five years had maintained a consistent Christian walk. For many years she has been a member of the West Bainbridge Church. Many times in the midst of her great sufferings she would say: "I am bearing my own infirmities but Christ bore the sins of us all." Thus was Christ to her all and in all, and his atoning death her only dependence. Of her it can be truly said, "The memory of the just is blessed." Her funeral was largely attended, and the Rev. E.M Blanchard of Bainbridge, preached from the words, "Fear not ye," Matt. 28:5. May God comfort those that mourn. [Bainbridge Republican, July 15, 1871].1 She was buried at West Bainbridge Cemetery, at Bainbridge, Chenango County, NY, USA.
