     Evaline G. Hotchkin was born in 1867 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA. She was the daughter of Seth Hotchkin and Fanny Twaddell. She resided at Cannonsville, Delaware County, NY, USA, in 1887. Evaline G. Hotchkin died on 27 January 1953 at Gillis Rest Home, Fitchburg, Worcester County, MA, USA.1

     At the 1880 Census of Liberty and the 1892 Census of Delhi, she was living with her mother and second husband Luther B. Hotchkin. At the 1900 census, she is a boarder, on Deposit St., with the Frank Holmes family; at the 1910 census, she is a housekeeper with the Homer Miller family in Ameram, NY, near her half brother George Luther Hotchkin. She remained single during her life.

     Guerdon was born at Parksville, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 4 March 1870. The 1900 census gives a birth date of March 1872.. He was the son of Seth Hotchkin and Fanny Twaddell. He married Paulina Baker at East Branch, Delaware County, NY, USA, on 6 May 1896.2 Guerdon Seth Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1900 at Hancock Twp, Delaware County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Hotchkin, Gurdon S., Mar 1872, 28, b NY; wife Lina B., apr 1860, 40, b NY, married 4 years, 3 children, 2 living; son Malcolm, Jul 1897, 2, b NY; son Kenneth, May 1900, b NY.. He resided at Hancock Twp, Delaware County, NY, in 1900. He died on 14 May 1926 at Delhi, Delaware County, NY, USA, at age 56. A June 4th 1926 edition of the Oneonda Star says that he died a couple of weeks ago after amputation of one of his legs and son Malcolm was moving from Andes to operate his father's farm "up the little Delaware River.".3 He was buried at East Branch Cemetery, at East Branch, Delaware County, NY, USA. They were removed from Granton Cemetery for the Cannonville Reservoir and moved to East Branch Cemetery..

     At the 1880 Census of Liberty and the 1892 Census of Delhi, he was living with his mother and her second husband Luther Hotchkin. Fanny Tompkins testified at the probate of Francis Hotchkin's Will in 1887 that Gurdon was living in Cannonsville, Delaware Co., NY.
     According to his death certificate he had resided in Delhi for four years, and was a farmer. He died of peritonitis after amputation of his leg.

     Margaret and Thomas were married at St. Peter's R. C. Church in Liberty, by Rev. Joseph Norris. Thomas was a fireman and a resident of New York City. Both of Thomas' parents were born in Ireland. The NY Marriage index has another marriage for a Nellie Hotchkin on 28 March 1937 in Grahamsville, Sullivan Co., NY; but we don't know if this is the same Nellie.

She married Frederick Bonney at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 28 August 1912.2 Alice J. Hotchkin died in December 1974 at Middletown, Orange County, NY, USA, at age 91.1

     The family was living in Fallsburg Twp., Sullivan Co., NY at the 1900 census. Fredrick was a farmer at Divines Corners according to their marriage license. The couple were married by Rev Walter J. Stecher and the wedding was witnessed by Ida M. Stecher and Agnes D. Fairchild.

Ella Kortright

Hotchkin at Ellenville, Ulster County, NY, USA, on 27 September 1893.1 Ella Kortright died on 21 August 1894 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA, at age 26.2 She was buried at Fallsburg Neversink Cemetery, at Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     The Liberty Register, dated 28 August 1894 says that Ella was sister to Hattie, wife of Francis Norman Hotchkin, and daughter of Abram Kortright. In one document, Hattie's and Ella last name is given as Kortright. It looks as if this relationship is in error. According to the 1870 census, Hattie is the daughter of Cornelius Kortright and Ellen is the daughter of Abram Kortright.

     His birth is recorded based on his Birth Certificate, but his son Kenneth Travis claims that he was born on 5 July 1898. Malcolm was listed in the 1900 census with his parents. His death date and location comes from his son Kenneth Travis. Social Security records give his birth on 5 July 1897 and death in March 1965.

     Goeffrey Brown says that there are two gravestones for Helen, one says 1898-1901 and the other, a stone decorated with a fallen bird, says 1898-1899. At the 1900 census, Helen was not with the family so the compiler will choose the 1899 death date.

He married Evelyn Shiedly at Hurleyville, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 8 April 1939. Norman Harry Bonney died on 18 April 2007 at Middletown, Orange County, NY, USA, at age 93.1

     Norman and his family owned the Seth Hotchkin's family bible, having received it from his mother, Alice Hotchkin Bonney, granddaughter of Seth Hotchkin. Brown says that he used it in his writing project.

(Nellie) Mills. She married William Mead Hotchkin at Ferndale, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 3 December 1902. Pearl May Grant died on 11 August 1968 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, at age 85. She was buried at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, at Grahamsville, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Gertrude Barber, Sullivan County Church Records, Vol 3, pg 4; says that Pearl was the Daughter of George G. Grant and Mary A. Mills and that she and William were married in the Methodist Church, at Ferndale, NY, by Rev H.S. Fuller. The witnesses were the grooms brother Burr Hotchkin and Golda S. Grant, the bride’s sister. Pearl had lived in Liberty for 10 years at time of her death.

The census lists the family as: Albert Hotchkin, 25 (1904), married at age 23, born NY, parents born NY, auto machinist; wife Thelma, 22 (1907), married at age 20, born NY, parents born NY.. He resided at Unadilla, Otsego County, NY, USA, in 1984. He died on 8 May 1984 at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, Otsego County, NY, USA, at age 79.6 He was buried at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, at Unadilla, Otsego County, NY, USA.7

     At the time of his death he had resided in Unadilla, NY for 41 years according to his obituary in the Oneonta Star. His wife survived him and in 1993 is living in Sidney, NY. Social Security Records confirm his birth and death dates and say that he received his social security card in Illinois and his death benefits were paid in Unadilla, Otsego Co., NY. Albert was retired from Bendix Corp. in Sidney, NY where he had been a machinist. He was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers and was a Methodist.
