She died on 3 May 1949 at Battle Creek, Calhoun County, MI, at age 84.2 She was buried at Second English Presbyterian Church Cemetery, at Amwell, Hunterdon County, NJ, USA. Mary Etta Mathews.
The 1910 census is really confusing. The census taker writes that William has 2 children, 2 living and that Marietta has 2 children, 2 living; however, there are 3 children listed. It is likely that this means that they each had former marriages.
