MELROSE - James Arnold Robertson, 80, of Melrose died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Jesup, Ga., Mr. Robertson moved to Melrose from Jacksonville. He was a member of Avondale United Methodist Church in Jacksonville and retired from Seaboard CSX Railroad in 1983 after 42 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Ionic Lodge 101, Scottish Rite and Morocco Temple.
Mr. Robertson is survived by: his wife of 62 years Dorothy Starling Robertson of Melrose; three daughters, Patricia A. Fowler and Cheryl R. Croft, both of Jacksonville, and Karen Suzanne Rinker-Kirkpatrick of Hamilton, Ga; three sons, James Wylan Robertson and Robert N. Robertson, both of Spring, Texas, and Royce Ramsay Robertson of Middleburg; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mr. Robertson will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in Avondale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jennifer Stiles Williams conducting the services. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville under the care of Jones Funeral Home of Keystone Heights.¹ He was buried at Riverside Memorial Park, at Jacksonville, Duval County, FL, USA.
