Thomas Gould Alvord Jr. was born on 23 March 1763 at Farmington, Hartford County, CT, USA. He was the son of Thomas Gould Alvord and Keziah Orvis. Thomas Gould Alvord Jr.served in Capt Joe Thomas's Company, Col Lamb 2nd Regt, during the Revolutionary War.. He married Nancy Scoughton at Hartford County, CT, USA, on 17 June 1783. Thomas Gould Alvord Jr. died on 23 June 1835 at Homer, Cortland County, NY, USA, at age 72. He was buried at Atwater Cemetery, at Homer, Cortland County, NY, USA.
He entered the service in 1777, in the 3rd Connecticut Regt for the war, was captured, and, in 1781 exchanged. He also served in the artillery and with him was a son of fourteen. They were at West Point and in the trenches at the surrender of Cornwallis. He was given a tract of land in Homer, NY where he died in 1810.
