Benjamin Lincoln Hotchkin Dr. was born on 1 September 1852 at Blue Island, Cook County, IL, USA.1 He was the son of William Hotchkin and Ellan Quinn. He married Mary Lydia Windes at Winnetka, Cook County, IL, USA, on 30 June 1885. Married 15 years according to the 1900 census..2 Benjamin Lincoln Hotchkin Dr. appeared on the census of 1910 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA. The census lists the family as: Benjamin L. Hotchkin, 57 (1852), physiian, married once; wife Lillie, 49, married once, 3 children 3 living. Children living at nearby address.. He died on 15 March 1929 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA, at age 76.3 He was buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, at Frankfort, Will County, IL, USA.

Benjamin's Death Certificate gives a lot of information on his family. It says that his father William was born in Spaulding, England and his mother Ellan Quinn was born in Dungallon, Ireland. William is likely the brother of John, who came to Jasper County, Iowa about 1855. Benjamin was a physician with offices at 31 North State Street, Chicago, according to the 1928 Polk Directory, and lived at 5522 North Kenmore. Irma, who was a steno, is listed in the same Directory as living at 5015 1/2 North Kenmore, and is probabily related. Benjamin's wife Lillian, two sons and a daughter are with him at the 1900 Census, but at the 1910 Census the children are living at a separate address. Lillian's sister Dora Zollman, born Nov, 1861 in Alabama is with the family in 1900. A 1892 Voting Record gives his address as 733 Kenmore, Ward 25, Precinct 16, where he has lived for 18 days, and 39 years in the County and State of IL.
