Gerald Cecil Brand died on 18 October 1944 at the battle of Peleliu, Peleliu, Palau Islands, at age 28. The battle of Peleliu covered the period of September 15 to November 27 1944. This battle of one of MacArthur's great mistakes of the war. The taking of the Island was estimated for 2 weeks but it took nearly 3 months and was the greatest percentage loss of American troops of the war. The large percent of these losses were US Marines.. He was buried at Northlawn Cemetery, at North Adams, Hillsdale County, MI, USA.

     Son of Merit Branum and Elizabeth Ellen Finley.


     The first medical society was organized in the Chickasaw Nation of the Indian Territory on May 15, 1900 and was called the Chickasaw Medical Association. In 1902, Dr. J.W. Gilbert of Ardmore was the president; Dr. E.E. Chivers of Ardmore was secretary. On March 15, 1906, a group of Pauls Valley doctors organized the Washita Valley Medical Association, 17th District (Garvin County) in Pauls Valley. They were Drs. A.W. Gray, H.P. Markham, W. J. Maniss, A.J. Robinson, James R. Callaway, N.H. Lindsey, T.C. Branum and James A. Young. This association functioned until Oklahoma became a state in 1907 and the name was changed to Garvin County Medical Society under which it was still functioning in 1957 when this book was published

In January of 1903 the Callaways moved to Pauls Valley where Dr. Calloway became a partner of Dr. T.C. Branum. This partnership was dissolved in October of 1905

In 1905 Dr. Johnson married Zealand Harris, daughter of J.A. Harris, who had a store in Byars. In 1910 they moved to Pauls Valley and he formed a partnership with Dr. T.C. Branum.

Hotchkin at Jackson, Jackson County, MI, USA, on 18 December 1911. Clarence Edward (Clair) Breining registered for the World War I Draft on 12 September 1918 while living at Jackson County, MI, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "Clarence Edward Breining, born 2 jan 1881, works for Peerless Portland Cement Co, wife Una Belle Breining.". He appeared on the census of 1920 at Spring Arbor, Jackson County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Clarence E. Breining, 38, born MI, father born Germany, mother born England; wife Unabelle, 23, born MI; dau LaReda E., 6, born MI; son Charles J., 4, born MI; son Lester, 1, born MI.. He died on 7 January 1955 at Washtenaw County, MI, USA, at age 74. Una Belle claims that she is a widow at the 1930 census..2 He was buried at Highland Cemetery, at Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, MI, USA.

     Information on this individual is from his marriage license to Una Belle Hotchkin. He reports that his parents were Martin Breining and Ellen Drayton and his occupation was trainman. They were married by Robert A. Smith, Judge of Probate Court and witnessed by Una Belle's mother Ella Bateman Hotchkin and Edith Hotchkin Fritz.
     The Jackson Co, Michigan Rural Directory 1918-23 lists the family as follows; C. E. Breining, spouse Una Belle, 2 children, occupation M. C. RR Agent, R1 Spring Arbor.
     The 1920 Census of Spring Arbor has him with his wife Una Belle, daughter La Reda, son Charles J, and son Lester.
the Hotchkin Family reunion notes give him the name of Clair. Middle name found in WWI Draft Registration.
