     Ernest Hotchkin was born on 15 August 1874 at Washtenaw County, MI, USA.1,2,3 He was the son of Francis James Hotchkin and Anna Elizabeth Laing. He married Rosetta (Rose) Palmer at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI, USA, on 16 October 1893.4
     Attached is a possible marriage of Ernest in 1902. This person is unknown and for a number of reasons does not fit.
Ernest Hotchkin married Tina Drefke on 4 February 1903 at Ogden, Lenawee County, MI, USA. At the time of marriage she lived in Ogden and he in Saline according to marriage records. Thes records say that he had one previous mariage and she none. Married by Emit Mason minister of United Presbyterian Church..5 He married Katherine R. Metzger at Saline, Washtenaw County, MI, USA, on 15 May 1908. Ernest Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1910 at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI. The census lists the family as: Ernest Hotchkin, 35 (1874), married once, 2 years, farmer, both parents born in MI; wife Catherine, 43, Married twice, 6 children 6 living, born Germany, both parents born in Germany, naturized in 1883.. He was a Teamster in 1910. He died on 14 August 1914 at Univ. Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI, USA, at age 39.

"Ernest Hotchkins of Ann Arbor, son of the late Frank Hotchkins of this place, died Friday morning at one of the hospitals in that city. The remains were brought here Monday and buried beside those of his parents. He is survived by his widow, and brother, Harvey Hotchkins.".6,7,3 He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, at Saline, Washtenaw County, MI, USA. Plot A-5.

     Ernest's birth is recorded in Washtenaw Co. Records, Vol 2, pg 50, and his death in 1914 records, page 23. A gravestone in his fathers plot, Plot #A-5, and burial records give his birth and death. He was married to Rosette Palmer on 16 October 1893 in Ann Arbor, MI by E.B. Pond, J.P. and witnessed by Anna Palmer of Saline and Frank Kennedy of Ann Arbor (Washtenaw Co. Records, Vol 7, pg 140, 1893). His parents were reported as Frank L. Hotchkin and Anna Lane; Rosetta's as Oliver Palmer and Anna Collum. On 15 May 1908 he married Katherine R. Metzgar Maurer at which time he said that he had been married twice before. The wedding was witnessed by M. J. Hotchkin of Milan and conducted by Theo. G. Rapsdorf. There is no information as to the identify of M. J. Hotchkin.

Ernest Twadell Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1900 at Guilford Town, Chenango County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Ernest L. Hotchkin, age 20, b 6-1879, NY, boarder with Harry H. Bowen. 23-63-11-44:. He resided at Guilford Town, Chenango County, NY, in 1900. He married Sarah J. Lown at Ulster County, NY, USA, on 28 October 1909. Ernest Twadell Hotchkin died on 13 March 1954 at Copake, Columbia County, NY, USA, at age 73.2 He was buried at Copake Cemetery, at Copake, Columbia County, NY, USA.

     The Columbia Co., NY Grantee lists, dated 15 April 1929 show Ernest T. and his wife Sarah L. in the town of Copake. Ernest's death date come from his Will Probate. The 1930 Census says that he was a Railroad Telegrapher.

She married Frank Afton Wythe at Charlotte, Eaton County, MI, USA, on 20 December 1910. Eva Lelia (Lelia) Hotchkin died on 11 August 1974 at Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, MI, USA, at age 82.5 She was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, at Mason, Ingham County, MI, USA.

     Family records and information from her children gives her birth as 22 March 1892. At the 1910 census she was in the home of David E. Dixon, Grand Ledge, Eaton Co., MI and gives her age as 18, which would confirm the year of her birth date as 1892. She was called Lelia in this census, and that is the name that she has been known by in the family. At the 1900 census of Central City, Lone Tree Twp., Merrick Co., NE her birth is given as March 1892. The Hendrick Family Bible gives 20 December 1916 for her marriage to Frank Afton Wythe.

     Evaline G. Hotchkin was born on 17 July 1867 at Delaware County, NY, USA. From a hand entry in a bible. She was the daughter of Seth Hotchkin and Fanny Twaddell. She resided at Cannonsville, Delaware County, NY, USA, in 1887. Evaline G. Hotchkin died on 27 January 1953 at Gillis Rest Home, Fitchburg, Worcester County, MA, USA, at age 85.1

     At the 1880 Census of Liberty and the 1892 Census of Delhi, she was living with her mother and second husband Luther B. Hotchkin. At the 1900 census, she is a boarder, on Deposit St., with the Frank Holmes family; at the 1910 census, she is a housekeeper with the Homer Miller family in Ameram, NY, near her half brother George Luther Hotchkin. She remained single during her life.

They were both single. He was age 27 (1889), she 27 (1889) . He was born in Gallatin County, MT, she in Augusta, IL..2,3 Evelyn Lelia Hotchkin and Chauncey V. LaRue were divorced in 1925 at MI, USA. She married John (Jack) Loren Tarr at Detroit, Wayne County, MI, USA, in 1926. She was age 30 and he 29 at marriage.. Evelyn Lelia Hotchkin lived in 1937 at Detroit, Wayne County, MI. At her mother's death she resided in Detroit and was called Mrs Evelyn Tarr. She died on 18 September 1960 at Dearborn, Wayne County, MI, USA, at age 64. She was buried at Riverside Cemetery, at Plymouth, Wayne County, MI, USA.

     Her brother George gives her birth date as 12 August 1897. He says that she and John Tarr had no children. The Compiler remembers Evelyn and Jack Tarr as fun people. There seems to be a difference on where she was born, Illinois or Nebraska. Illinois is more likely as it was August 1889 before the family show up on land records in Central City, NE. Anthony Hotchkin gives her name as Evalena and says that she was born in Augusta, Hancock Co., IL. Connie Skinner also says Augusta, Hancock Co., IL.

Everett Willis Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1900 at Worth Twp, Cook County, IL, USA. The census lists the family as: Everett Hotchkin, age 13, b IL.. He married Ruth Isabell Thompson on 26 February 1916 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA.2 Everett Willis Hotchkin registered for the World War I Draft on 5 June 1917 while living at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "Gives his birth location as Blue Island, IL, says he is married but does not gives wife's name. He is manager of War and Exposion Deparpment for Continental Insurance, located at 332 LaSalle St". He lived in 1936 at Scarsdale, Westchester County, NY, USA.3 He died on 22 December 1957 at Tucson, Pima County, AZ, USA, at age 70. Death Certificate said that they had resided in Tucson for 7 years..1,4 He was buried at Evergreen Crematory, at Tucson, Pima County, AZ, USA. Body was cremated according to Death Certificate..

     Everett was Secretary of Standard Oil Company.

Ccording to the Death Certificate, her parents Henry Hotchkin and Mary Semple were living with her..4 She was buried at Shelton Memorial Park, at Shelton, Mason County, WA, USA. Buried as Fannie E. Hotchkin Beinsen..

     In notes of Ebenezer Jr., he refers to Fannie as a preacher and teacher. He also says that she married Dalzell- Beinsen. The compiler suspects that this refers to two separate marriages; first Dalzell and second Beinsen. Volume II of The History of the State of Oklahoma, says that she is now Mrs. Delzell and a teacher in the Presbyterian College.
     Fanny must have been living near her brother Henry in the late 1920's as she and he are the Grantees of property from the Klamath Development Co. on 18 April 1916. She is called Fanny Delzell. On 20 December 1920, Henry Quit Claims property to Fanny McClure, wife of W.N. McClure.
Findagrave.com records say that her death certificate calls her Fanny H. Beinsen.
Hernab Beinsen is also buried in Shelton Memorial Park and called a husband. He was born 30 sep 1861 in Germany and died 15 Sep 1955 in Shelton, Mason County, WA.

Fanny is called Fanny Dalzell in one of the documents.1

She married Henry Baldwin Cornwell at Prattsburgh, Steuben County, NY, on 10 June 1909.1 Fanny Waldo Hotchkin died on 12 November 1947 at Clifton Springs Sanitarium, Penn Yan, Yates County, NY, USA, at age 62.2 She was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, at Penn Yan, Yates County, NY, USA.

Fern Forest Hotchkin

     Fern Forest Hotchkin was born on 1 January 1890 at Berrien County, MI, USA. She was the daughter of George E. Hotchkin and Louie May Kennedy. Fern Forest Hotchkin died on 1 January 1893 at Berrien County, MI, at age 3.

     It seem obvious that this birth date is in error as her sister Neva was also born in 1990 and is confirmed by the 1910 census; but this is the date in family records.

Florence Alexandria (Bessie) Hotchkin

     Florence Alexandria (Bessie) Hotchkin was born on 22 June 1906 at Indian Territory, USA. The 1910 census calls her Bessie and says that she is age 3 and born in Indian Territory.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Semple Hotchkin and Jennie F. Russell. She married Rex P. Caseman at Klamath Falls, Klamath County, OR, USA, circa 1935.2 She married Claude B. Petty circa 1938. Information on this marriage comes from funeral records of her brother William R Sr..3 She resided at Seattle, King County, WA, USA, in 1947. Florence Alexandria (Bessie) Hotchkin died on 26 August 1982 at Contra Costa County, CA, USA, at age 76.4

     Bess or Bessie as the family knew her, married twice but had no children according to her sister, Mary Louise Hotchkin Wood.

Florence Ethel Hotchkin

     Florence Ethel Hotchkin was born on 10 June 1880 at DeWitt, Onondaga County, NY, USA.1 She was the daughter of Addison R. Hotchkin and Susan Avis Wright. Florence Ethel Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1930 at Manhattan, New York County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Florence Hotchkin, age 49 (1880), single, born in NY, parents born in NY, business is artifical flowers. There is no proof that this is the correct Florence.. She died on 18 November 1944 at Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY, USA, at age 64.1

     Florence is found in the 1900 census of Onondaga Co., DeWitt, Eastwood, NY living with her father Addison, with no one else in household.
